This is cause for both consternation and optimism; consternation that
many customers will spend the same or more on mass-market dreck, and
optimism that sound this good can be had for so little money.
To many, speaker cosmetics are the most important issue. To
others, only the best sound will do. It’s apparent after one look and listen,
both were equally important when designing era speakers.
era design was created to blend with your
décor, not take or distract from it. Exotic hand polished wood veneers or high
gloss black finishes are used in every pair. Our most popular system consists
of 2-era Design 5 sats and D5 LCR (center); 2-era Design 4 sats for rear
effect and the awesome Sub 8 that thunder out the bass frequencies yet remains
tight. This is a system you’ll be proud to own no matter what you listen to.
The Design 5 system is a larger
speaker than the Design 4 and is engineered for larger spaces and or higher
sound pressure levels. We suggest running the D5 full range in a home theater
system. They will reach down to 50 Hz a very low level of bass reproduction
unheard of in a speaker this size. This allows the sub to be crossed over very
low, so it becomes un-localizable or transparent. The overall result when
blended with our silk dome tweeter is nothing short of breathtaking. If you want even more sound pressure and a
perfect blend across the front stage, use 3 Design 5 LCRs.
The Design 5 system works equally
as well for stereo reproduction as it does for theater. This is a claim made by
many, but delivered by few. It was with music these speakers were voiced, however,
they are more than dynamic enough for home theater.
Now everyone can be happy… the decorator, the home theater
enthusiast, the casual listener and most of all… the Audiophile who never has
to make the “looks for sound compromise” ever again.
Available finishes: Rosewood,
Sycamore, Cherry and Black Gloss.
The D5 satellites are a similar design to the D4 with
additional low frequency performance and power handling. It is a 5"
two-way design. The custom drivers and internally braced 1" MDF
cabinets provide very high fidelity with no audible cabinet resonances.
As with all Era products, the fit, finish, and fidelity go way beyond
what you would expect at the price point.

The D5 LCR can be used as a center channel speaker or an
LCR in a hometheater setup. It utilizes the same drivers as the D5
satellite and is timbre matched to ensure a balanced surround
soundstage. Build and finish qualities are second to none, with
performance characteristics of much more expensive speakers.
