Design 5 - This is not a small speaker trying to sound big in a small room. It's a small speaker designed to sound big in larger rooms.

d4-rw-l-with-grille.jpgIf you’re in the market for a small, elegant speaker system that must blend with your décor as well as sound great, Peachtree Audio speakers maybe perfect for you. The D4’s and D5’s weredesigned as “high-end” lifestyle speakers that blend with Peachtree Audio integrated amplifiers or any high quality system.

Prior to 2011, the speaker brand name was “era”. We had many great reviews and wanted to keep the speakers, however, with limited resources and two brands, we decided to roll “era acoustics” into Peachtree Audio.

This works perfect with Peachtree as many times “system size” dictates choice. Now when you have to choose small, you don’t have to choose inferior sound or build quality. Finishes include real wood book-matched Rosewood, Cherry and Piano gloss black. The exotic veneers are sanded, smoothed and hand polished; giving the cabinet the finest finish you’re likely to see on speakers at any price. The finishes match the Peachtree Audio amplifiers for added cosmetic appeal.

Each cabinet is constructed from ¾ - 1” MDF and heavily braced. The cabinets are cut with the finest European CNC machines so joints are measured by the micron and each joint is absolutely perfect. A great deal of craftsmanship, care and attention to detail goes into every era speaker. This is a product that you’ll be proud to own and is built to last a lifetime.

The goal was to build audiophile grade speakers that extend low enough for a subwoofer to be optional. Custom drivers were required to meet the demanding specifications.

Long time friend and master speaker designer, Michael Kelly of Aerial Acoustics graciously agreed, and was commissioned to engineer the custom drivers. After almost a year in development, the drivers were finally ready to be fitted in their new cabinets and be voiced by Peachtree owners Jim Spainhour and David Solomon.
Peachtree speakers reproduce astonishing bass. The Design 4 satellites have an in-room response down to 58Hz. This is with a 4” driver. The Design 5 satellites drop to 50Hz.

Awards include Stereophile’s coveted Recommended Components, Absolute Sound Editors Choice Award and Home Theater’s Editors pick Award. The small print: When a speaker with “real” bass response is designed in such a small box, it requires more current than a typical speaker its size. So we suggest an amp or receiver with a good power supply with at least 40 watts or more per channel like Peachtree.
